Will Yakima BackSwing Swing Away on 2018 Ram Promaster Allow Rear Doors to Open
Published 09/26/2018 >
Question:
Hello, before I buy the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender for either my Bike Rack or Carrier Basket, I wanted to make sure the Yakima Swing-Out Hitch will allow the Rear Doors to my 2018 Ram Promaster to open while the hitch is just sitting in the closed position, with nothing inserted? So if I let the Yakima Hitch to just sit inside Promaster Hitch will I be able to have access to the rear via opening the Doors all the way, obviously with no bike rack inserted? Thanks

From a previous customer we spoke with we found that on the Ram Promasters like your 2018 model the distance from the bottom of the hitch opening to the bottom of the door when swung out measures right at 9-1/4 inches. The Yakima Bikeswing Part # Y02483 when installed without a bike rack would allow your door to open then with a couple of inches of clearance.
