You can install a 7-way trailer connector like # PK11893 in your 1995 Dodge pickup by using a pigtail harness # PK11998. This harness has a matching U.S. Car connector to plug in to the 7-way and the pigtail leads allow you to splice into the truck's wiring using the included butt connectors.

We do not have access to a wiring schematic for the vehicle but what you can do is use a circuit tester like # PTW2992 to test the function on each wire on the truck. Then simply match up the functions (not the wire colors) based on the harness wiring configuration below:

Color - circuit - wire gauge:
Red - Left Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
White - Ground - 10 gauge
Blue - Electric Brakes - 12 gauge
Green - Right Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
Black - Battery - 12 gauge
Brown - Running Lamps - 14 gauge
Yellow - Backup Lamps - 14 gauge
