Should Trailer Wiring Grounds Run to Trailer Frame
Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/09/2024 >
Question:
If my trailer grounds through my hitch, which causes connection issues over bumps. How can I ground the lights directly to the trailer? Can I cut into the ground wire and attach to trailer frame and be ok? This is a 4 pin setup and the trailer is a big Tex 30SA

Hey Adrian, yes you'd want to do exactly what you mentioned. You'd need to ground the lights all to the trailer frame and then also ground the 4-way on the trailer side to the trailer frame and you'd be set.
