Question:
I am building an car hauler and wanted to know how resistant to moisture and sun would both the motor and gear box be. It would appear that most of the installations are inside the RVs themselves. In my instance it would not be, it would be completely exposed. If these are not the best choice, what would you recommend for a fully exposed dual landing gear implementation? Thanks

When landing gear like # LG-1 is used on exposed trailers the electric component needs to be covered. Most of the time this is done with a custom sheet metal box as it doesn't take much just to shield the motor from the elements. The legs are powder coated and the gear box is aluminum, so you won't have issues with them being exposed, but the motor is another story.
Your other option is to use a jack like the Bulldog Velocity Series Electric Landing Gear Jack # BD185400 or for a more heavy duty system you can use the Bulldog Powered-Drive Kit for Single-Speed Jacks w/ 12,000-lb Capacity # BD1824200100 along with the Fixed Cross Shaft Extension Tube for Bulldog Tandem Landing Gear - 72-3/4" Long # BDCS730300 and jacks like # BD182411.
If you prefer 2 speed jacks # BD1824180100 along with the Bulldog 2-Speed Tandem Landing Gear Set - Weld On - 17" Lift - 45,000 lbs # BD500153.
