Why is it necessary to bend the tabs?

The tabs on the outer Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads # K225CP need to be bent to keep them in place on the caliper.

So, when you go to take these pads off again, how do you bend the tabs back straight to take the pads off?

@PatrickW You can either use channel locks or any other tool that's strong enough to bend them back. If you're replacing the brake pad, then you won't need to keep it in good shape and you can do whatever you need to do to get the brake pad off.
