Troubleshooting Latch Pin on B&W Gooseneck Hitch That Will Pull Out But Won't Rotate

Question:

They handle under the driver side wheel pulls out but won’t turn like the directions say ?? Seems like this is the problem won’t it won’t come off ?

I spoke with my contact at B&W and he said that your case is rare but they have seen this happen before. When you are able to pull the handle on your gooseneck hitch back but you can't rotate it what is happening is that the there is a spring on the latch pin that is prohibiting you from pulling that pin out far enough.

My contact said that they tell customers to cut a coil or 2 from that spring and you should be able to rotate the handle. Since you are not able to rotate the handle that is definitely why you can't remove your hitch ball.
