Towing Capacity for 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 Towing 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

My wife and I would like to know what is the towing capacity of our 2016 GMC Siarra 2500hd sle. Ive contacted the dealership and they havent been much help. The fifth wheel we want has a dry weight of 10,815 lbs GVWR of 16,000 and the dry hitch weight of 2,310 lbs. We recently installed the rebel sumo springs and are considering more modifications. Hope you can help.

I looked up your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD and it can have a capacity of between 13,000 and 14,500 lbs depending on how it's equipped. So if your trailer stays under those figures you'd be fine. The Reese Select 20k # RP30081 hitch that you referenced is a great hitch to use as well.

You'll need a set of custom install rails for this hitch since they minimize driling and install time as well. For that you'd want the # RP50066-58 which is a confirmed fit as well.
