Trailer tires - of any size - do not have any type of average life span; how long they last depends on a number of factors.

One thing you will want to do on any trailer tire is always inflate the tire to the maximum cold psi. Doing this will give you the best performance, allowing the tire to wear more slowly and give you optimum gas mileage. Also be sure you have the correct load rating for your tire and follow the speed rating. In addition, radial tires are better for things such as highway driving while bias tires are used more for agricultural purposes.

For example, a very good tire which fits a 13" wheel is the Kenda # AM10210 which is a load range D tire that has a maximum capacity of 1,610 lbs at 65 psi and speed rating of M, or 81 mph. This is a size ST175/80R13 tire which has an outer diameter of 24.1" and 7" width.
