Will Frame Support the More Centralized Pressure of the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension System?
Published 08/17/2018 >
Question:
Would this put greater pressure on the frame because of the mounting spot being only 11.5 vs the standard 35 on conventional springs

Expert Reply:
The Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for Tandem Axle Trailers w/ 2-3/8" Round Axles - 7,000 lbs # TSR7000T04 will actually give you more frame contact than a typical leaf spring system as the hangers have less contact, but you are correct it will be more centralized.
The frame can absolutely handle the weight over the mounting plate. Another thing to note is the pivoting arm that will disperse weight as it comes in contact with the frame when necessary for stabilization. The aeon rubber bushings and springs take the road shock and support the system while helping disperse that weight.
Installation also requires a 2x4 hollow steel crossmember (not included) that will also help support the frame in the mounting location by preventing twisting inward or outward.
