The SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack # 298-SX6000B referenced in your question uses 6 vacuum cups that can mount anywhere on your vehicle's roof. The roof rack comes with a 1-year limited warranty from the manufacturer.

The vacuum cups are incredibly strong and each individual cup has a pull strength rating of 210 pounds. Just to give you an idea of how strong these units are and how firmly they will attach to a vehicle, I have included a video in which a VW bus is actually lifted off the ground using the vacuum cups as attachment points.
