I have a shank that 12 inches long and 9 inch pin hole. My tailgate will not down.

Expert Reply:
The longest weight distribution shank we offer is the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4500 which measures 18" long overall and 15" long from the center of the hitch pin hole (see photo). This means that you will gain 6" of additional clearance for your tailgate. We have not yet installed this shank on a 2017 Ram 1500 but we have had customers use it on their 2011 Ram 1500 with success which you can see in the second attached photo. These are both the same generation so I do believe this shank will allow for you to fold your tailgate down while towing.
