Question:

You had mentioned using this carrier and still be able to flat tow a vehicle. I have a tow dolly that needs to attach to this rack towing a front wheel drive Toyota Corrolla on its 2 rear wheels. Can I do that with this tire rack ? I realize that I am not flat towing.

It sounds like you are referring to the Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195225 that features a 2 inch receiver opening for flat towing. I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and he did state that you can indeed use the 2 inch receiver to pull a tow dolly as long as you remain under carrier's 400 pound tongue weight capacity. Also keep in mind that using this spare tire carrier will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 33 percent. So you will not only need to remain under the carrier's tongue weight limit but also the reduced capacity of your RV's trailer hitch.
