Question:
the camper has 4 wires from the old light white/red/black and green. my new light has white/black and green. what is the red wire for and where does it go?

Expert Reply:
It is likely that the red wire is a jumper wire from one side of the trailer to the other for the running lights. You can verify this by testing the wires using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993. Connect the trailer to the tow vehicle and have someone operate the light functions while you test the wires. For example, if you are replacing the lights with the RV Taillight # 30-92-001, the white wire is for ground, the green wire is for turn and stop, and the remaining wire is for running lights.
