Question:
I am trying to determine the correct drums and brakes to order. The tag on the axle says it is a Dexter Axle P-15 Model SLR SN 0 5252710. Is this enough info for you you to help me out with the correct parts to order. I would like to replace all 4 drums and brake assemblies. Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Dexter regarding the axle on your 2000 Four Star Trailer. Using the serial number that you provided (thank you!) she was able to verify that this is a Torflex 3,500 pound axle. The spindle uses the # L68149 inner bearing and # L44649 outer bearing.
There are a few possible bolt patterns that could be on your hubs, so you will just need to find a hub and drum assembly that matches your existing bolt pattern. If you are unsure what this is, I have attached a great article that explains exactly how to measure this.
If you have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern (which would be the most common), I recommend the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84546UC3-EZ. This hub and drum is compatible with your axle and will work perfectly. Please let me know if you have a different bolt pattern and I will be happy to recommend the correct replacement hub.
Then for replacement electric brake assemblies, you can use the Dexter Left Hand # 23-26 and RIght Hand # 23-27.
I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these parts that you can also check out.
