It sounds like you are wanting to replace a 5 spoke utility hub and drum like # 8-174-5UC3 on your trailer with a traditional hub that features a standard bolt pattern. In order to see if there is a compatible replacement available, you will just want to first pull the existing hub and check for the bearing numbers that are used. The numbers should be stamped right inside the bearings themselves. You can also take a few measurements along the spindle where they sit if you are unable to read the numbers (see attached image). I recommend using a digital caliper like # PTW80157 as the measurements need to be exact. You will also want to make sure the replacement hubs you choose match the capacity of your axle.

For example, the 5 spoke utility hub mentioned above uses the # 25580 inner bearing and the # 15123 outer bearing. It is designed for 6,000 to 7,000 pound hubs. If this matches what you have, then a suitable replacement will be with the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-9UC3-EZ. This hub uses the same inner and outer bearings, features a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern, and is designed for 6,000 pound axles.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this hub assembly that you can check out. If you find that you have different bearings for your hub, please let me know and I will be happy to see if we have something else that will work as a replacement.
