On the CURT Ball Mount, # D-26, it measures 12-5/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. It will clear the spare tire on your Jeep Liberty, but it still may be tight.
For a longer ball mount, go with # BH20. It measures 13-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. That will give you enough clearance and room to spare. I have included a link to a video review for you.
