Question:

I have a 2016 Ram 2500 6.7 4X4 with coil springs on the rear. Looking for air assist springs when towing 38ft 5 wheel. What are my options?

For your 2016 Ram 2500 I recommend going with Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs. We have these with 2 different weight capacities, 5,000 lbs # F2598 and 7,500 lbs # F2706. The 5,000 lb system should be more than enough since they will be helping directly with the pin weight of your 5th wheel, but if you plan on doing a lot of towing or utilizing your pickup daily apart from towing your 5th wheel the 7,500 lb kit would be more beneficial. Both of these are compatible with an in-bed hitch like what you have.

Any suspension enhancement system like the air bag kits won't increase the weight capacity of your Ram but they will help support up to their weight capacity to help keep your suspension in good working order.

I also recommend installing a compressor kit so that you don't have to hunt down an air compressor when you need to add air to the air bags. We have the Air Command I # F2097 which is a single path (inflates the air bags together) or the Air Command II # F2219 which is a dual path (inflates the air bags individually) for you to choose from.
