When the back end sags under a heavy load, handling and braking can go downhill fast. The Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs add up to 7,500 lbs of rear axle support, keeping the truck level and steady when hauling or towing. By reducing strain on the rear suspension and maintaining even load distribution, these air springs help improve steering control, braking, and headlight aim while keeping tires wearing evenly.
Every load is different. These air bags let you fine-tune support manually from 5 psi to 150 psi to match your hauling needs. Inflate side to side using separate valves to level off-center loads like campers or uneven cargo. When you’re running heavy, add pressure for a firm, stable ride. When unloaded, drop to the minimum pressure for a smoother drive without stiffness or bottoming out.
The Red Label springs are designed for the toughest jobs with four layers of reinforced rubber and braided wire girdles that form their double-convoluted shape. This high-strength construction boosts burst pressure and keeps the bags anchored tight between corrosion-resistant metal end plates using a rolled crimp seal proven to hold up under years of hauling. It’s the kind of build that takes real-world abuse without leaks or sagging over time.
Each kit comes with vehicle-specific brackets, air springs, hardware, air line, and separate valves for manual inflation—no drilling required. The brackets mount directly to the axle and frame, and airlines route cleanly to the bumper for easy access when adjusting pressure. Add an optional compressor system later if you want in-cab control, but everything needed for manual inflation is already in the box so you can get set up in your own driveway with basic tools.

Quality and well built,I put this kit on my 2021 ram 2500 was rather easy to install and now I have the ability to adjust my rear bed height for towing any load without sag. I highly recommend this kit and they are top notch manufactured thanks etrailer you guys are the best.
Top notch product, good instructions. They add the extra capacity I needed on my 2016 Ram 2500. I did need to pull the rear passenger wheel to get the air bag on.
This kit works great just what I wanted for Ram 2500 Diesel pickup truck. This lift package raises the back of my truck up when am pulling my fifth wheel trailer.
My sales rep Adam was very helpful and getting the information I needed to help me solve my problem my truck was seesawing back-and-forth from side to side with the slide in camper on it due to having coil springs the airbags completely stabilized my truck and made it drivable it sure beat the heck out of spending $10,000 to upgrade to a heavier truck ( the newer ram three-quarter ton trucks have coil springs in back instead of the traditional leave springs) and much to my surprise the order arrived three days earlier than anticipated. The product works as advertised. The only problem I had on the install was due to a poor fit of the passenger side upper bracket. The problem was RAM's, not the Firestone bracket. I had to do a little grinding on the bracket to get it to fit over a nasty weld on the truck frame. I would have ground on the frame instead but I couldn't access the spot with my grinder.
Easy kit to install. I just need to a remote compressor kit for it now.

This is the compressor kit that we recommend with this suspension kit: item # F2178.
The Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label air springs came packaged really well in a nicely designed box with professional graphics. The provided instructions are very detailed and geared for any average person with a modicum of mechanical abilities. The videos that are linked to this product, filmed by etrailer, are spot on and provided the needed guidance. By choosing to complete the install myself, I am almost certain that I saved several hundred dollars. The drivers side Air Spring went in quickly with no issues. However the passenger/off side Air Spring install was no picnic. The frame mount and upper spring bracket bolt holes did not match up at all. A step drill had to be used with cutting oil to make considerably larger holes to allow the bolts to line up. I have a feeling that the jig that Firestone is using during the manufacturing process may be off a bit. The "wings" on both spring brackets had to be bent a tad to slide up into place to sandwich the frame where the old OEM jounce stops used to be as well. They had to be placed in a shop vise and widened with a long 2x4. This job, which was going along smoothly, turned into a 6hr day rolling around on a creeper. Other than the install issues, the product is made really well. You can tell it is made for heavy duty. It Is finished in a nice powder coating. It works as advertised and raises the rear to support heavy loads for towing. Would like for Firestone to adjust their manufacturing jigs though.
These bags are Firestone RED LABLE or Xtra Heavy Duty High Pressure air bags. I rate these bags 5 star, that being said, the question really is: Do you need bag pressures above 30-50 psi? The most likely answer is No, that being the most likely answer, I would purchase Firestone Standard Air Bags. Why? Presure. I never exceeded 30 PSI with my 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7 Diesel. Yes I pull at or above Max Load. GREAT BAGS & EASY INSTALL. FYI: Install airlines with separate independant fill valves to maintain stable ride in curves and corners. I do not recommend single full point to both bags, bad idea.
Outstanding kit. Install was fairly easy. Passenger side frame bracket was had to be bent open a hair to fit over the vehicle frame. Installed with the Air Lift 73000EZ compressor on a 2019 Ram 2500 4x4. Towing a 5th-wheeel with 2300lbs pin weight (11,000lbs trailer). The complete system works beautifully. Can adjust the ride height of the truck to properly level the trailer. Stable tow during high cross winds. Have over 10,000 miles towing in the past year. Very happy with this system.
It does the job, although the bags leak. Multiple times i have gone through the routing of the lones3 and air bags and they leak down when pressure is added to the bed or gooseneck trailer is hooked up. Although I already discussed with tech support about this issue and they were very helpful, the bolts for the brackets are danger close to rubbing on the rear brake line. For the cost of the bags and compressor i would have expected a better design. Again the air bags work very well, its keeps kicking the compressor on as they have a small leak (that I can't find). Bags do a great job of keeping my truck level when hauling heavy loads on my 30ft gooseneck trailer and keeping all 4 tires planted for good traction and even wear
Definitely supported my pickup with a 38’ fifth wheel!
This did not help to make the back more stable so I could put a camper in the bed. I just sold the truck as was not good for camper, and the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Vehicle Suspension did not help.

Air springs are ideal for leveling your truck bed when towing or hauling heavy loads. For a constant load that requires some extra stability, a different type of load support may work better for you. Many customers have found they like SumoSprings Helper Springs, like # SSR-312-54 for your 2018 Ram 2500, when hauling a truck bed camper.

The air connections were too long to install either with or without the upper bracket assembly installed on the airbag. I had to bum a 20 mile round trip ride to get the proper fittings.

This is a well designed kit. It was easy to install, took about 2 hours. The mounting brackets were heavy duty steel and bolted right up. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was the finish was chipping off during shipping. Still recommend.
Ordered Firestone air-assist springs that ended up back ordered ... George J reached out to me to explain the situation and kept me posted on the status checking with me when they were ready to ship ... so very good and rare customer service that is greatly appreciated ... good job!

Air springs have worked well allowing adjusting hitch height to level trailer tend to hold air pressure well minor fit issue when installing passenger side brackets that requires grinding ca. 18 of truck suspension bracket to allow installation.
Very easy product to install looking forward to see how it perform very good instructional videos on etrailer

As expected air bags for the win! 2016 Ram 2500. Install was easy, took only one hour. Truck rides and handles better when loaded, especially when going thru a dip in the road like a bridge transition. The real test will be my Camp Lite truck camper!
This will make your ride higher than normal with the 5 psi recommendation in the bags. Wish there was a different bracket that would allow the original space between the frame and axle, with the bags added you lose alot of the space between the axle and frame and the bags are more compressed together than what I think they need to be. The bags don't allow for any squat in the back it almost over compensated for no squat at all and when you do add air in the bags you are already 2 to 3 inches higher than rear ride height. the brackets for the bags need to be reworked to achieve more space for the bags. i will probably do this on my own soon.
Not impressed whatsoever. Powder coat peeling off right out of the box, bolts are not long enough for the washers to work and go through the nylocks correctly. Grade 5 carriage bolts with grade 8 nuts. Carriage bolts run into the brake lines unless you bend the brake lines out of the way. Bags don’t line up straight up and down no matter what you do. Brackets that attach underneath the axle bend ridiculously easy as well as the carriage bolts. For $[XX] I was expecting much more. Would not recommend whatsoever, if you want good bags, buy the air lift bags they are much nicer. Bought these to give them a try since this is where I purchased my gooseneck hitch from as well and as very disappointed. Would not recommend at all. etrailer service was great but this product is junk all around. The only nice thing in it is the rubber on the bags themselves. For $[XX] there should be no question in quality at all and the quality here is very poor.
Bought these with the control and compressor to adjust the ride on a 2019 Dodge Ram 2500 to tow a 42' 5th wheel, heard a lot about other brands leaking, not an issue with these. I inflate to 60psi for hauling to fix the sag and take the bounce out of the ride and 5Psi for normal driving. After about 5k towing miles, I would highly recommend. I researched for weeks before buying and not disappointed!
