Transmission Cooler for a 2011 Nissan Rogue with a Factory External Cooler
Updated 06/04/2018 | Published 05/31/2018 >
Question:
The video to install the Flex-a-lite Translife on 2011 Nissan Rogue, shows the transmission lines going to the radiator. On our vehicle it does not. It appears the lines come out of the transmission via a two port cooler and appear to go back toward the firewall not to the transmission. Can I unplug one of those lines connect our hose for inlet to the new Derale Series 8000 and then connect the hose I removed to the outlet side of the new Derale?

I did some checking and there was only 1 transmission option, a CVT, for the 2008 to 2013 Nissan Rogue which means that what is shown in the video, linked for reference, is accurate. There were some changes made in 2012, the addition of a Sport mode to the CVT, but whether or not that included an alternate cooler I can't say.
The bottom line is that the path of the fluid will come from the transmission, to the factory cooler (wherever it is located), then to the supplemental cooler such as # D13503, and then back to the transmission. So as long as you can locate the "hot" line from the transmission to the factory cooler and the return line from the factory cooler back to the transmission you will be good to go.
