Question:

Hi, I have a 2018 Honda Ridgeline naked roof and want to the absolute best hitch hauler for my 17foot Kayak. I do not want a permanent roof rack but will definitely need a crossbar as well. Price is not a consideration, only quality. Suggestions? Thanks!

I recommend the Yakima LongArm, part # Y01149-1150, for the hitch extender. This is a pretty new part offered from Yakima and they were here a few months ago showing it off to us. This thing is solid and it's versatile since it can be set at roof or bed height. I've linked a video from when our installers tested it out for you.

Since you don't want a permanent roof rack take a look at the SeaSucker Monkey Bars # 298-SX6000B. The crossbars connect to your Ridgeline's roof using vacuum cups. There's a demo video of the Monkey Bars linked as well. I've also linked a video of a different SeaSucker product on a VW bus you should check out if you have any doubts on the strength of the vacuum cups.

To carry the kayak you also should use the crossbar pad for the LongArm, part # Y07417. As well as the pads for Monkey Bars, part # 298-SA1022, and the tie-down straps, part # 298-SA0010.
