Yes, the Edge CTS3 Programmer part # EP69YR is easy to install and is a confirmed fit for your 2004 GMC Sierra with a 6.6 liter diesel engine. It will give you up to 135 horsepower and 240 ft lbs of torque so you'll notice quite a bit of additional power and your truck will tow much easier.

You'll also notice better fuel mileage as well.

Yes, the Edge # EP69YR programmer plugs into the OBD port and prompts you through the programming process. All of the connection and mounting hardware is included with it.

You can unplug the Edge CTS3 tuner like part #EP69YR after the tune is installed on the truck and the tune will not be affected. The tuner would need to be plugged in to use the display or the change the tune levels.
