Question:

Im interested in the hydrastar and brakerite electric over hydraulic actuators. I couldnt find any publication on brakerites performance nor where its made. Hydrastar and brakerite both claim to have the fastest response time. Obviously they both arent the best. Do you have an publications on brakerites response times? Ive seen you guys post on youre QandA that each is the fastest response times. So Im highly confused lol I have no interest in the Dexter unit. I am concerned that hydrastar is the only one that states the their unit can over heat if youre sitting too long with your foot on the brake! Any actual proof which one is the fastest? Im leaning towards the hydrastar as its US made and a two year warranty. I did see brakerite had circuit board issues about 3 to 5 years ago. Any help you can provide to help me with my decision? It looks like you have certainly done your research in regards to the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator and the Titan BrakeRite EHB Electric-Hydraulic Actuator. In regards to repose time, this goes to the Titan BrakeRite EHB with a response time of .3 seconds whereas the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator has a response time of .8 seconds. This is due to the five vs three piston pumps that each respective units use.

In regards to the Titan BrakeRite EHB Electric-Hydraulic Actuator you use the Titan BrakeRite I Plug and Play Electric-Hydraulic Actuator Kit # T4813102. If you have drum brakes, you will add the reducer, part # T4844100 to the same # T4813102. In regards to the HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator you have six options. These options are as follows.

Venteded:

Drum 1,000 psi- part # HS381-8065

Drum 1,200 psi- part # HS381-8066

Disc 1,600 psi- part # HS381-8067

Non-Vented:

Drum 1,000 psi- part # HBA-10

Drum 1,200 psi- part # HBA-12

Disc 1,600 psi- part # HBA16
