Reason You Can't Use Triple Axle Timbren Axle Less Setup on Trailer
Updated 04/25/2018 | Published 04/24/2018 >
Question:
hi, just fell on the axle-less from timbren doing search for adding a third axle to my trailer because im modifying it to accept a third axle, but on the trailer right now i got a v-shaped frame to hold hydraulic cylinders to tilt the trailer and i cant put a standard setup but the axle-less is something i would be able to install but its not recommended for tripple axle... can i know why? currently converting a 24k trailer, whos been to 16k, to 21k with 3-7k axles thanks!!

I spoke with the engineers over at Timbren. The reason that they do not recommend the axle-less suspension systems, such as # ASR5200S01, for triple axle applications is because there is no equalization between what would be the axles of the trailer. Without that a trailer that is not fully level would put to much stress and/or weight on the other sets.
The engineer said that they have done it before and it can be done but unless the trailer is always fully level, when loaded or not, it is not recommended and should not be done.
