Can Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar be Used with ReadyBrake System

Question:
Does the female end of the readybrake receiver take the male receiver end of the Alpha tow bar? it seems that due to the pin holes on opposite ends of each other it will make the towbar/readybrake system a lot longer i.e. further away from the motorhome hitch which is never good.

Expert Reply:
As long as you are using the Ready Brake system that is specifically designed for receiver type tow bars, it will indeed be compatible with the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380. As you mentioned, this connection will create some unnecessary length that I do actually have a solution for.
I recommend using the Short Hitch Connector Assembly # BX84-0051 to shorten the connection between the tow bar and RV. This is confirmed to work with and will replace the shank on your Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar. It features an overall assembly length of 12-1/2 inches and a shank length of 8-11/16 inches.
