How to Choose the Correct Valterra EZ Valve Electric Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank

My husband needs to change out the 3 inch valve for the black tank. W/O pulling valve 1st, he doesnt know if he needs hub to hub, spigot to spigot, hub to spigot or just flat. We have a 31 foot Coachman Denali. He would like to go electric but doesnt know which one to get. Thx,

The difference between a hub connection and a spigot connection is that the hub is the female end and has a lip on the inside that stops the spigot (or male) end where it needs to be. I have attached some pictures to assist.
With this knowledge it is just a matter of taking your valve off and choosing the correct replacement:
3" Hub to 3" Hub - # E40B-8
3" Hub to 3" Spigot - # E40-8
3" Spigot to 3" Spigot - # E40A-8
I would avoid going with the option that only has the 3" Diameter # E1003VP since you will need additional parts to make the correct connections.
Be sure to have some Valterra ABS Solvent Cement # A05-0303 handy for the installation as well.
