Tire Chain Recommendation for 2017 Toyota Highlander Limited

Updated 02/27/2018 | Published 02/25/2018

Question:

When we purchased the car I had to sign a disclosure form that said the vehicle could not be operated with tire chains but may accommodate some other type of tire traction device. but the owners manual has a section on tire chains for this vehicle. Are your PW2029c chains acceptable

Getting a clear message on tire chains for newer vehicles is seemingly getting more difficult. On one hand there are several areas of the country that require you have them at least in the car with you and then you have the manufacturers not wanting you to use them as they are constantly trying to stuff larger and larger wheels in their wheel wells.

If your owners manual says that the chains are okay but need Class S compatible chains I'd recommend the Titan chains like part # TC2324. I attached an install video for these on a similar 2017 Highlander as yours as well and the fit great. The part # PW2029C also fits but the traction won't be as great and they won't last as long.
