RE: Curt 45902 ball mount. Hi, the pictures of this ball mount on your site show a raised area on all 4 sides of the shank, but pictures of the same mount from other places online do not have the raised area. Is one a newer version, or ?

The raised square plates on shank of the Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount part # C45902 are present on older versions of the ball mount but not all. The new version of this ball mount has the smooth shank like you have mentioned. The version of this ball mount we carry is the one that has the rounded shank.

Yes, the Curt Lock Set #C23556 will work with both the #C45900 and #C45902 meaning the 2-1/2" hitch won't be a problem. The pair of locks comes keyed alike but there is no option to match the keys between the sets of locks.

There is indeed a locking hitch pin set, part #C23556. This part number includes two locks, one hitch pin lock and one locking pin that would replace one the retaining pins that keeps the ball assembly in place. The locks are keyed alike.
