Question:
Can I flat tow my 2014 Jeep Cherokee limited? It has the transfer case switch by the gear shifter. And what do I need for vehicle to make tail lights work? I have the 9 speed tranny and I want to make sure it won't void my warranty.

Based on my research, your 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited with 9-speed transmission can be flat-towed depending on which model you have. You can not flat-tow a front-wheel drive model and can only flat-tow the 2-speed power transfer four-wheel drive model. You can use a tow dolly like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly, Item # RM-2050-1, for a front-wheel drive model. All models can be towed on a vehicle trailer.
If you have a four-wheel drive model that can be flat-towed then you will need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, wiring, a braking system, and maybe a high-low hitch adapter.
For base plates, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit, Item # RM-521447-4, because it is designed for your vehicle. It also has twistlock brackets that are virtually invisible and can be removed. The Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, Item # RM-522, is a great choice that fits the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate. Durable safety cables are the Roadmaster Coiled Safety Cables, Item # RM-643.
For lighting, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit Item # RM-15267 that will use your vehicle's tail lights and also includes 7-wire to 6-wire coiled electrical cord. You will also need a brake relay light like Item # RM-88400 that will work with the supplemental braking system.
A high-low hitch adapter may also be needed to keep your tow bar level while flat towing the Jeep. A "safe zone" of 3 inches above or 3 inches below level must be maintained while towing a vehicle. High-low adapters provide necessary rise or drop to get into the "safe zone". I have attached a link to our available selections.
The Stay-In-Play Braking System, Item # SM99251, is a great proportional braking system that has a convenient one time set-up. You will also need a stop light switch like Item # RM-751471.
Finally, Jeep issued a tech bulletin in which you will need to install wiring kit 68321424AB when flat-towing your vehicle that we do not carry but that can be purchased at your local Chrysler and Jeep dealership.
Before towing your 2014 Jeep Cherokee, make sure to review the owner's manual for towing directions and limitations so you do not damage your vehicle or void your warranty.
I have attached additional information and videos for you to checkout to help you with your towing project.
