Question:

I have decided to replace the 7 wire to 4 wire coiled cord I have with a 7 to 6 wire cord with a charging wire. I have looked at the BX88206 . Would you recommend this and does it include the 6 wire receptacle I need for my Jeep to replace the existing 4 wire one. Also, what gauge wire recommend from the plug to the battery?

If the exhaust brake makes the brake lights/tow package trailer connector on the RV come on then it will trigger the InvisiBrake # RM-8700. There is a solution but there isn't an easy way to bypass the exhaust brake from setting off the InvisiBrake.

What you can do is add a charge line from the RV to the battery on your 2015 Jeep Wrangler. This will require a couple of additional parts.

To keep a maintenance charge on the battery I recommend using a harness such as # BX88206 with the tow bar wiring you will be using so that you can run a wire from the connector at the front of the truck to the vehicle battery.

There are a couple of ways to do this. First, you can tap into the running light circuit in the tow bar wiring but to provide power to the battery the RV running lights would have to be on all the time. Or if the connector at the back of the RV has a working 12 volt circuit you could use that circuit instead.

Which ever way you choose you would just attach the wire to the appropriate corresponding pin at the back of the connector that will be at the front of the truck and the other end of that wire will go to the positive battery terminal.

Blue Ox 7-Wire to 6-Wire, Coiled Electrical Cord, Item # BX88206, is a great option. It does come with the 6-Way receptacle that will be at the front of the towed vehicle. For wire I recommend using 12 gauge wire such as # 12-1-1 up to 10 gauge wire such as # 10-1-1. These are sold by the foot.
