Troubleshooting Trailer Jack Light That Is Partially Dim After Water Was Poured on Switch
Updated 12/27/2017 | Published 12/26/2017 >
Question:
Power Jack was frozen I poured hot water over it so the down button would work . I turned the light off but it is still on dim, would the water do something to the switches

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, water can create shorts between circuits and what you described has been known to happen when a jack gets rained on.
What's happening is that the switch is being bypassed slightly by the water which is allowing the light to slightly illuminate due to the very small amount of amperage able to get past it. If you take a blow dryer to the switches you'll see the light go off.
