Recommended Trailer Tires to Replace 7.5-16LT Tires on Homemade Smoker Trailer

Updated 12/26/2017 | Published 12/23/2017

Question:

I have 7.5-16LT Trailer Tires on my homemade smoker, but Im having a difficult time in getting them replace. Where do you purchase them? I would like to know which wheel hub assembly I could replace the current ine with? I dont have any information for the current one, but I would definitely live to swap so I dont have to deal with this same issue down the road.

The Karrier ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E, item # AM10295, is the closest tire to the 7.50-16LT tire that we have. Your tire has an overall height of 31.8 inches and a section width of 8.4 inches. This tire has and overall height of 31.61 inches and a section width of 9.37 inches. This will give you a similar height but will add about an inch to the width of your current tire, which based on the open wheel look of your trailer shouldn't be an issue.

I've attached some articles on trailer tires to assist as they are made differently from the Light Truck tires (LT) that you currently use. LT tires can be used on trailers, but will not function quite as well.
