Electric Trailer Brake Controller Port Location on a 2002 Ford Expedition

Question:
I am trying to wire my 2002 expedition with a 7way adapter and brake controller. I have the tow package with he 4way adapter installed. Crawling under the car I see the adapter that the 4 way plugs into which has a blue wire that is supposedly for the installation of a brake controller. The problem comes under the dash when trying to locate the plug for the brake controller. There is no visible plug above the gas pedal where manuals say it should be. Before I start rooting around some more I wanted to ask for a little guidance here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are a few different places the port on the 2002 Ford Expedition may be hiding. First, check the area beneath the dash, near the center console. It may be tucked up in there behind other wiring and you may need to remove an underdash panel. If you cannot find it there, check under the dash but to the left of the steering column. It is also possible that it is behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. I have included a link to a couple of videos that might help.
