Question:

I have a mercedes roof top cargo box roughly 18 CUFT with out the roof mounts. I tried purcashing replacement parts from mercedes and they could not provide the interior mounting hardware and suggested that I reach out to a Thule dealer as their cargo boxes are manufactured by Thule. I located the Thule Quick Grip Mounts on your website Part #TH05738 but not sure if that will do the trick. Alreacy purchase some parts from merdeces to find that I need the interior brackets as well which they cannot provide. Any way to confirm if the quick grip mounts will work?

I spoke with my contact at Thule and she stated that the Quick Grip Mounts consist of 3 parts. First, there is the assembly itself, # TH05738. There is also a cradle, # TH8523387001, and a slide strip, # TH05401. If additional hardware is needed, there is also screw # TH05728.

There has also an older system, Thule QM3 Quick On-Off Mounting Hardware Kit, # TH04997, that was used in some boxes. Instead of u-bolts or clamps like the other 2 kits above, this kit uses several brackets and 2 bolts.

If the box you have has any of the old hardware, you can compare it to these kits to determine which is correct. if your cargo box has a model number on it, I may be able to determine which box it is and which specific mounting kit it uses.
