Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13408 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2005 Jeep Wrangler as long as it is not the Unlimited model. This Class III hitch is custom-fit for the Jeep, which means it will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill installation. It will provide a 2 inch receiver opening and a 4,000 pound towing weight capacity.
I have attached the written installation instructions along with an installation video on the 2005 Jeep Wrangler that you can use for reference. All the necessary hardware is included.
If you plan on doing any towing and you do not yet have a wiring harness installed on the Jeep, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118409. This custom-fit harness will install by connecting directly to the existing ports located under the vehicle, below the driver and passenger side tail lights. This will provide the Jeep with a 4-Way connector to connect to and power the trailer's signal lights.
To tow a trailer you will also need a ball mount and hitch ball. I have attached a great article that explains how to choose the best one for your setup along with a link that will take you to our available selection.
