Does Bumper Beam Have to Be Removed When Installing Curt Hitch on 2016 BMW X5

Question:
Hi! I just had a curt hitch 13077 installed on BMW X5, 2016, and I forgot to install the rear crash bar back. To be exact, I thought it does not have to be installed based on the install guide on your site for BMW X5 2008, and, I failed to test myself if it will fit back on the 2016 model. Now that I installed the hitch and the bumper I stumbled on some of the video instructions on your site that showed the crash bar being installed on top of the hitch on the newer than 2008 X5. Could you clarify for me if the crash bar will fit on top of the subject hitch on th X5 2016 before I take the bumper apart again? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The instructions for the Curt hitch part # 13077 state to discard the steel bumper beam. The hitch's crosstube takes the place of that beam.
