Space Needed to Crank Trailer Valet 5X on V-Nose Trailer
Updated 10/30/2017 | Published 10/28/2017 >
Question:
I want to buy your product. Do you think it will work on my 5 by 8 trailer which has a rather short tongue. Having read other questions I understand 8 in needed for the bracket - thats not my concern. I also understand I may not be able to travel with it in the parallel position I may need to remove it and I am fine with that as well. My question is will there be enough space to rotate the handle for up and down movement on this short tongue on my V-nose enclosed 5 by 8. I have attached pictures which I hope is helpful it was dark and rainy but I did my best cuz I really want to order this. At the back of where the bracket would be there is about 3 and 3/4 inches of clearance from the outside of my frame to the side of the V-nose. At where the midpoint of where the bracket would be there is about five and a half inches between the body of the V-nose and the outside of my frame on my tongue.

Thank you for the photo, it was beneficial in determining that you will be fine using the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack # STC-V211 with your V-Nose trailer. I called Trailer Valet, and they told me that the top crank was roughly 7 inches long. If you look at the attached photo with some other measurements of the Trailer Valet 5X, you'll notice the distance between the jack and the trailer frame is about 7-1/2".
This means you should plenty of available room to use the Trailer Valet 5X # STC-V211 with your short tongue V-nose. I've left a link to a video review for you to take a look at as well.
