Doesnt the quick link make it 2 inches longer than the original cable? If so how do you adjust for that

The Replacement Cable with Quick Link for Gorilla Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift # GLC1-Q1 comes with the quick links. I've attached a video to assist in the assembly. That quick link would need to be used in the inner and outer spring but the cable length accounts for this kit so there is no adjustment needed.
If you want the spring with the cable mounted, I recommend the Replacement Spring and Cable Kit for Gorilla Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist - Qty 1 # GSCC-400. This is the direct replacement of both parts.
