Published 09/27/2017 >
Question:
2008 dodge ram 3500...tow pkg plugin tests good for running lights brown...when trailer is plugged in only 2 frt side running lights work very dim... all brake and turn function normally... I ran jumper ground from truck to trailer, no fix... running lights did come on while troubleshooting so I thought maybe truck relay or such heating and resetting but then trailer running light dimmed by half the in a few seconds only front light on each side working very dim but tow pkg plugin still 12.7v...

Sounds like you are overloading the running light trailer wiring circuit of your truck and that is why the lights aren't wanting to illuminate properly.
Easiest solution for that is to replace all the lights with LEDs as they draw considerably less. I attached a link to all of the trailer clearance LED lights we have. Are there quite a few clearance lights on your trailer?
