Question:
Can the 2001 Ford winstar mini van be flat towed
asked by: Tone
Helpful Expert Reply:
Based on the online owner's manual (page 183-184) for your 2001 Ford Windstar, Ford does not recommend that these front-wheel drive vehicles be flat towed behind a motorhome with all 4 wheels on the ground. For towing the vehicle, using a tow dolly like the Roadmaster # RM-2050-1 is going to be the best option.
The owner's manual does state that the vehicle can be flat towed in an emergency situation only (with a maximum speed of 35 mph and a distance of up to 50 miles).
