I want to see if the Curt Echo will work on my 2019 F-150?

The Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 will work with a 2019 Ford F-150. However, the 2015+ Ford F-Series Pick-Ups have what is called a SmartTow feature that prevents power from supplying the trailer connector most of the time. Therefore, in order to use the Curt Echo on a 2016 Ford F-150 you will need to run a dedicated power wire from the battery to the trailer connector and all you will need for this is the Power Wire Kit for Electric Trailer Brake Controllers part # BRK-ELECKIT.

I have the BT Echo brake controller and have been using it on 2015 F150. My alternator went out today. The controller has been working great, but could it have fried my alternator? Thanks

I suppose it's TECHNICALLY possible, but it's probably a pretty big stretch to think the Echo could have fried the F-150's alternator. The Echo simply pulls power from the 7-Way's 12V circuit - which gets power from the truck's battery. The battery is obviously tied to the alternator, but they would be fused in between. I have to think the alternator issue was caused by something unrelated.
