Need help between: EQ37100ET or EQ37120ET Havent purchased trailer yet so I have to rely on published data. Dry weight: 6906 lbs. GVWR: 9000 lbs. Hitch weight: 940 lbs. Length: 35

Weight distribution/sway control (WD/SC) systems like Equal-I-zer # EQ37100ET and # EQ37120ET are best selected based on the trailer's actual loaded tongue weight (TW) to which you add the weight of any cargo in the tow vehicle that sits behind the rear axle, such as a generator for example. This weight-matching ensures the system is stiff enough to provide the required tongue weight shift to the truck's front axle while not being so stiff that it creates weird handling. Ideally your actual total TW falls in the middle of the system's operating range.

For a trailer with a dry hitch weight of 940-lbs you can safely assume your loaded TW will be a good bit higher, more like 1100-lbs. This would be in the operating range of system # EQ37120ET but too much for # EQ37100ET which tops out at 1000-lbs TW.
