How to Install a Curt TriFlex Brake Controller on a Toyota 2013 RAV4 XLE

Updated 09/12/2017 | Published 09/11/2017

Question:

Mike, Will my Curt TriFlex Brake Controller with an end plug connector match a connector on my 2013 Rav4 or will I need to wire each colored wire on an individual basis? Also, where exactly would these wires be located under the drivers dash side of the vehicle? Is this doable or will I need some kind of expertinch for this wiring problem? Please direct me to the necessary, diagrams, videos, pictures, and explanations to help me figure this out. I am having to add a hitch and do all the required wiring, which I feel I can do. However, this brake controller has me lost as what to do. Any help you can give me Mike, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Your Curt Triflex brake controller part # C24VV can easily be wired to your 2013 Toyota RAV4 but it will require you to hardwire most of the connections.

You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118578.

From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
