Question:

Are Thule Aeroblade roof rack bars compatible with either Inno or Yakima bases? I have a Thule rack and cargo box from a previous vehicle, but Thule doesnt have a fitment for the 2017 Volt. For budgetary reasons, Id like to replace as few parts as possible. Thank you.

Yakima and Inno bases are not compatible with the Thule roof bars. In general, each manufacturer has its own mounting methodology and kits, so the bars are not usually compatible.

Your roof box, however, would be likely to fit onto the available bars. If you can send me a little more information about it I can track down better fit information.

I personally prefer Yakima racks as they are extremely adaptable and can angle to precisely fit the roof better than other brands. For your 2017 Chevrolet Volt, I recommend:

Yakima JetStream Crossbars, 50", part # Y00425
Yakima BaseLine Towers, part # Y28TR
Yakima BaseClip, part # Y06137
Yakima BaseClip, part # Y06126

You will need one of each BaseClip set, as one is intended for the front and one for the rear. I've included a video of these crossbars being installed on a similar Dodge Dart so you can familiarize yourself with how to fit the bars.
