Why Doesn't the Curt X5 Adapter Fit Some Trucks with B&W Gooseneck Hitches

what would cause the adapter to not fully drop into the bandw turnover reciever

There are some B&W Turnover Ball gooseneck trailer hitch and truck combinations that are not compatible with the Curt X5 adapter # 16310. So far we have determined that it is not compatible with the following:

2013 - 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 or 2014 - 2017 Dodge Ram 2500
2007 - 2016 Toyota Tundra
2017 Ford F-250 or F-350

The issue is that on these trucks, possibly others, the ball cavity for the gooseneck hitch is not as far down so the shank on the X5 cannot go far enough to line up with the pin hole that would hold the adapter in place.

The best and really the only solution is to use the B&W Companion hitch # BWRVK3500 for a long bed or # BWRVK3400 for a short bed. I have linked video reviews of both hitches for you.
