There is not an adapter for your Blue Ox baseplates # BX1956 on your 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser to work with a Stowmaster Tow Bar # RM-501. You can however use the Blue Ox Acclaim Tow Bar - A-Frame - Car Mount - 5,000 lbs # BX4330 which is very similar.

To use the Stowmaster Tow Bar, you would need to use the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 278-1 which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. I also recommend the Safety Cables # RM-643 for this combination.

For your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which will use your factory wiring in your vehicle while protecting it. It will give you added options based on the 6 pin connection to allow a maintenance charge on your PT Cruiser's battery.

For the braking system, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This system will be adjusted at installation and then becomes a plug and play system that stays out of the way. It is very reliable and our installation team's favorite.
