Replacement Cradle for a 4 Bike Hitch Mounted Rack

Published 08/15/2017

Question:

The only number on my Thule rack, 155721, is seen on one of the photos attached, but it looks more like a serial number than a model number. I've attached a couple of other photos of the rack, hope that these may be helpful in trying to get the proper cradle/strap replacements.

The Replacement T3 Cradle Body for Thule Bike Carriers # 853-5829 and the Replacement Rubber Strap for Thule T3 Bike Carrier Cradles # 753-3535 will most likely stretch to fit your 1-1/8 inch bars. However, I reached out to my contact at Thule and they said we need to know the exact model to confirm that fit.

For your Rhode Gear Rack, which is made by Yakima not Thule, the brand replacement is the Replacement Control Block for Rhode Gear and Prorack Highway Racks # RG8890083 which measures 1-3/32 inch internally. I recommend going with the Replacement SuperCush Cradle and ZipStrip for Yakima Hanging-Style Bike Racks # 8880597 which is 1-5/16 inch inner diameter.
