Speed Rating for Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8 Inch White Wheel # AM30120
Updated 04/08/2011 | Published 04/07/2011 >
Question:
You have one page that implies this size tire is rated for 50mph...and another that says 65mph: Which is it? Also does the speed rating go up at all for higher load range tires? What are my options to get up to at least 60mph, other than a new trailer? I have load range C tires and would be willing to load the trailer lighter to get a higher speed, or go to a higher load range.

All of the trailer tires we carry are now rated for 65 miles per hour. The load range of a tire does not change its speed rating, so a B load range will have the same 65 mph speed rating as a C load range. For the Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire, # AM30120, that you have referenced, the tire has a capacity of 910 pounds at 75 psi. Trailer tires should be inflated to their maximum indicated psi rating for best performance and longer life.
