Question:

I want to wire in an illuminated license plate holder for a trailer hitch rack. I would like to wire it into a trailer plug on my 2008 Silverado. How can I do this?

To wire an illuminated license plate holder such as the Optronics LED # LPL55CB, you can simply splice into the running light circuit and ground wire from the trailer connector. I recommend using the 2 Wire Loop # 9651P to make these connections. This will allow for a quick and easy disconnect when you are not using the cargo carrier/rack on your trailer hitch.
