Mounting Stromberg Carlson # 2020-JR Propane Tank Rack

Can the rack be mounted off the floor so that the bracket only supports the tank?

It sure can. The # 2020-JR propane tank bracket is strong enough to support a full 20 lb propane tank. It's not necessary to set it on the floor. This assumes that the surface you attach the rack to is capable of supporting the weight of the tank plus that of the rack.

This rack (2020-JR) was on my trailer tongue when I bought it. I swapped it out for a dual rack four years ago. Now I want to go back to the single, but I cannot find ANYTHING to show me how to do this, with the exception of one picture. That person had to modify it extensively, and there was only one picture, which didn't show me anything I can use. HELP!!! To be clear, I want to mount this on the tongue, as it was when I originally purchased my brand new trailer. I am NOT mounting it inside, or on any walls. (Note to self: take pictures before, during, and after making changes!!)
