Question:
Hi, I have a pair of really old tandem axels I recovered from a mobile home over 30 years ago, and I would really like to use them to construct a dump trailer. The axels are solid 1and3/4inch square and it appears the spindles were forged intergrally with them. Spindel measurements are A-1and 3/4, B-1and13/16, C-1and1/2, D-15/16, E-7/8, F-1and1/2. I currently have a pair of hubs that are 5 on 5and1/2 and the only outer bearing reference I can find is Timken type TS 1779. I dont need to use these hubs, but what Id like from you is a hub/drum/brake setup for one axel and free run hub for the other with bearings and seals to match my spindels. What brand of bearings do you supply ? Im considering matching either the two 5 lug hubs I have, or moving to six lug to match my Chevy wheels. Thanks for your help !

I can get you bearings for your current hubs, but we don't have any hubs or seals that will fit your spindles. For inner bearing, you can use # 29749 and outer bearing # 1779.
If you want to upgrade your system, I recommend starting with new axles because we don't have square spindles that match your system. I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Hubs - Straight Spindle - 5 on 4-1/2 # A35RS545 and the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Electric Brake Hubs - Straight Spindle - 3,500 lbs # A35RS545E. This will give you a complete system with one braking axle and one idler hub axle. This also has integrated suspension so no leaf springs, hangers, or equalizers are needed. You will need to add 2 inch square bar between the assemblies into the integrated holes unless you have a cross brace in your trailer frame at your axle locations. This will give you a trailer with a 7,000 lb capacity.
If you want a higher capacity, I've attached the page to your options and can assist with getting the right hub and drum assemblies for you.
